Fire in the skies.

  My favorite sunset of 2023 so far happened last month up by Beaver, Oklahoma.
With the overhead anvil cloud from an unreachable storm and its huge Mammatus field, I knew that it would be epic once the sunset colors hit. I focused on finding a foreground and was ecstatic to see this old house sitting on a remote hill just as the colors started to bleed through.

  I jumped out of the jeep just in time for the sky to set ablaze from horizon to horizon. The sun's dying light painted the fantastic textures and layers of the clouds for about 90 seconds before dipping out of sight. A moment I long for as a photographer and one I will remember for a long time.
